    5/1/2018 Update

    Hail Dark Age Origins Community!

    Some time has passed since our last update, and many new faces have joined the team! We would personally like to extend a warm welcome to: Cornwallis(WB), Galizur(WB), Timberwolf(WB), Lucan(WB), Ogrezilla(WB), Overseer(WB), CombatCop(WB), Tesla(DEV), and Kali(DEV). A lot of progress has been made in the last few weeks towards our goal of being able to reopen the server, and we are very much pleased with the amount of effort that has been put in over the last few weeks. With that being said, with the exodus of some of the former staff members, we have been dedicating a lot of time towards training new staff, as well as cleaning up the messes that were left behind.

    Our World Build team has been hard at work, verifying mob placement, equipment templates, adding trash loot, and loot drops to mobs with proper drop rates, and sell prices. Some of you may be asking what does this mean? It will ensure that when you are playing our server that you will have a quality gaming experience with proper game-play on and off the battle field. There will be plenty of coin to be plundered, and many items to use in your templates with proper stats! We are paying a lot of attention to detail in the PvE arena to keep PvE somewhat fun, interesting, and challenging with proper mob behavior, encounters, and quests. It will also help ensure that our in-game economy stays strong and healthy for years to come.

    The Development team has been verifying all classes to make sure they have the correct abilities, spells, and styles with time period correct values. In addition lots of code optimizations for server stability, and speed are currently underway. All game mechanics are currently under review and are being improved upon. This includes damage formulas, resist rates, realm ability mechanics, and general game mechanics. Once this is complete focus will turn to implementation of missing features. With much of our low level starter zones nearing completion, we will be looking to bring on a limited number of Quality Assurance testers. This will allow us to weed out game breaking issues, and bugs early on to ensure a quality gaming experience for our player base. It will also give us the advantage of a smooth transition from our Alpha -> Beta -> Launch phases. More information about this role, and how to apply will be mentioned in upcoming updates.

    We will also be releasing some polls to gather data on which Quality of Life changes you would like to see and which ones you would not. We would like to encourage everybody to leave us feedback and suggestions in the proper forum as to what changes you would like to see. That way we can can bring popular issues up to the voting booth, for further discussion and possible implementation. The more feedback and suggestions we receive from you guys, the easier it will be for us to see what is important to you. Our current list of Quality of Life improvements which are not set in stone as of yet will be posted within the next few days.

    As a volunteer project we are constantly looking for community members to step forward, and help support the project.
